The parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker, Mc Kenzie and communities from Wismar, Silver Hill and Dora gathered together on 20th March, 2011 at the St. Joseph the Worker Church and parish hall, for their Parish Stewardship Conference. There were three short presentations on the following themes: Discipleship, Jesus the Way and Stewards of the Church and the World, which were presented by the members of the Diocesan Stewardship Council. After the three presentations the participants went off for a group discussion session. The session was aimed at affirming that each Christian is called to discipleship patterned on the life of Jesus and is therefore a Christian steward of the Church and in the various places where they find themselves in the world.
After the lunch break participants gathered for a session examining how parishioners share their time, talent and resources with the community. Parishioners also learnt the benefits of being a stewardship parish and were asked to share their views and dreams for the parish. The day ended with Mass celebrated by His Lordship Bishop Francis Alleyne, OSB.
